Why it's dangerous
It acts as a calcium sensitizer and phosphodiesterase III inhibitor, causing excessive heart contraction and significant vasodilation when ingested in toxic amounts.

Commonly found in chewable tablet forms (1.25, 2.5, and 5 mg) which increases the risk of accidental over-ingestion by pets.
